Bergen County Firefighters Tackle Three-Alarm Garage Fire


Bergen County Firefighters battled a raging fire that ignited a garage on Sunday afternoon.

According to fire officials, Bergenfield firefighters were called to 291 East Clinton Avenue after the received reports of a structure fire at that location.

Upon their arrival, Bergenfield Fire Chief Chris Naylis said, the working blaze third alarm was transmitted as heavy flames vented from the side of the garage and smoke filled the nearby home.

Crews were able to gain the upper hand and knocked down the fire within 30 minutes with a search indicating no injuries reported.

Firefighters from Teaneck, Englewood, Tenafly, Dumont and New Milford assisted on scene.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
