There is an active investigation underway into a bank robbery that occurred in downtown Newark on Saturday afternoon.
According to preliminary reports, a light complexion male entered the Chase Bank located at 744 Broad Street at around 2:30 p.m. and announced a robbery.
The suspects reportedly wore a grey hoodie, blue jeans, and was carrying a brown bag.
There are no reports of weapons at this time.
A crime scene unit has been requested to the Chase Bank and the Citibank located at 721 Broad Street.
No injuries reported.
