Authorities reported no injuries in a shots-fired incident that erupted in a city's South Ward section on Sunday morning.
At approximately 1:50 a.m., police responded to reports of a person shot near 180 Shephard Avenue.
Upon arrival, police taped off the area after locating multiple shell casings, but no victims were found at that location.
Newark Major crimes detectives were notified and assisted in the investigation.
The suspect fled the scene and is at large.
