Police reported no injuries in a shooting that erupted in a Newark South Ward community overnight.
A ShotSpotter device activated and alerted police of a shooting in the vicinity of 286 Renner Avenue around 2:35 a.m.
When officers arrived, they found multiple shell casings, but no victims were located after police canvassed the scene.
The suspect fled the scene and is at large.
The investigation is being handled by the Newark Police department.
