Authorities Seek Newark Dollar General Burglary Suspect

Authorities in Newark report that an arrest warrant has been issued for John Jenkins, 44, of Newark, who is being sought for burglary in an incident that occurred on Sunday, September 3.

According to authorities, at approximately 3:04 a.m., a male suspect used a rock to break open the automatic doors of the Dollar General Store, located at 420 Springfield Avenue.

Officials say the suspect entered the store and stole various items, including body washes, soaps, baby diapers, wipes, and over-the-counter medications, placing the items into a black garbage bag.

The estimated value of the stolen merchandise is between $300.00 to $400.00.

Detectives investigating this incident identified Jenkins as a suspect and obtained a warrant for his arrest.
