Authorities Seek Newark Burglary Suspect

Authorities in Newark request the public’s help identifying a female suspect in connection with a burglary that occurred on Monday, October 2.

According to Newark Police, officers responded to a residence at Pine Grove Terrance near South Orange Avenue on a call of a burglary.

Police say at approximately 11:30 p.m., a female suspect entered the victim’s garage, which had no door but was covered by a tarp, and stole a 20-ft. split-level ladder.

The suspect arrived at the residence driving a Grand Cherokee. She removed the ladder, walked to the Grand Cherokee, and fled, heading northbound on Pine Terrace.

According to officials, a male suspect was also observed on the victim’s surveillance cameras walking passed the victim’s residence and viewing the garage when the female suspect entered it.

Detectives investigating this incident describe the female suspect as wearing a wig, a black and white zippered sweatshirt (black sleeves and shoulders with a white bodice), light-colored ripped jeans, and dark-colored shoes.

Officials say she also wore a ripped face mask covering her jaw and had a light-colored bag (possibly a computer bag) tied to her waist.

The male suspect is described as approximately 5’11 to 6-ft. tall, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt covering his face and light-colored pants.
