Authorities Release Surveillance Photos of Hanover Bank Robbery Suspect

Morris County Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp and Hanover Township Police Chief Mark Roddy announce an active investigation into a bank robbery that occurred this afternoon in Hanover Township.

According to official, at approximately 3:32 p.m., law enforcement received a report of a bank robbery that occurred at the Chase Bank, located at 480 State Route 10 in Whippany.

The subsequent investigation has revealed that a male entered the bank branch and demanded money while in possession of a handgun.

Various surveillance photographs from the interior of the bank have been obtained. The suspect can be further described as a white/light-skinned male, who was wearing a dark colored jacket, pants, and shoes, light colored gloves, dark sunglasses, and a dark hat. He was last seen carrying a handgun and a bag.

Upon exiting the bank, the male fled from the scene.

Numerous law enforcement agencies have responded and are currently investigating this incident, including the Major Crimes Unit of the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, the Hanover Township Police Department, the Morris County Sheriff’s Office, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
