Authorities are investigating a deadly shooting that claimed the life of a Newark man Saturday afternoon in Linden.
According to officials, at approximately 3:26 p.m. on September 27th, Linden Police responded to the 3000 block of Irene Street following reports of gunfire.
When officers arrived, they discovered 28-year-old Darrell Sanders of Newark suffering from a single gunshot wound.
Sanders was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Union County officials confirmed the incident remains under active investigation. Detectives from the Union County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Task Force, working alongside Linden Police, are urging anyone with information to come forward.
