Police in Newark are investigating a shooting that left a male victim injured this evening in the city's North Ward.
Gunfire rang out at around 7:15 p.m. in the 30's block of Magnolia Lane sending police to the scene where the victim was found suffering a gunshot wound to the face.
The victim was transported to University Hospital where his injuries have been reported to be serious.
Police have not made an arrest in the shooting.
