Authorities Identify Men Killed in Separate Jersey City Shootings

Authorities have released the identified the of two people killed in two of four shootings this weekend in Jersey City.

Lamass Burgess, 40, of Jersey City, was pronounced dead at the scene after police found him suffering from at least one gunshot wound to his upper body on McAdoo and Rutgers Avenues sometime around 2 a.m. Burgess was found in the lobby of the building.

The second victim, later identified as Isaiah Jackson, 21, also of Jersey City, was pronounced dead at Jersey City Medical Center-Barnabas Health sometime around 7:30 p.m.

According to police, Jackson was found with at least one gunshot wound to the upper body shortly after 7 p.m. on Martin Luther King Drive.

Investigators continue to investigate the shootings and the possibility of a connection among the four shootings.
