Linden police are warning residents who may have used the Citi Bank ATM at the 7-Eleven establishment, located at 1832 E. St. Georges Avenue, prior to December 23rd to check their accounts.
On that day around 1:15 p.m., a 40-year-old Roselle man was about to use the ATM when he observed a suspicious plastic green device on the machine.
The man believed it was a credit card reader and notified store employees and contacted the police.
Police removed the device and investigators are examining it for evidence.
Meanwhile, several people have come forward to report unauthorized transactions on their bank accounts.
Citi Bank customers are advised to scrutinize their bank statements and report anything suspicious.
