Authorities in Atlantic County announced that on February 21, Richard Guante, 21, of Atlantic City, was sentenced to a concurrent four years in New Jersey State Prison after previously pleading guilty to second-degree Robbery, second-degree Eluding Police, and fourth-degree Hindering Apprehension charges.

According to Egg Harbor Police, on December 13, 2020, Guante eluded police after officers attempted to stop a vehicle driven by him.

Police say Guante did not stop and instead led police on a car chase with his vehicle’s speed reaching in excess of 100 m.p.h.

In an unrelated matter, Guante hindered his apprehension on February 9, 2021, by providing officers of the Atlantic City Police Department with a fake name during an unrelated investigation.

According to authorities, on March 9, 2021, Guante committed robbery when he approached the victim on her porch in Atlantic City and ripped her purse off her shoulder, and fled in an SUV.

Guante was detained after this incident pending resolution of the above three matters.
