Atco Camden

Authorities yesterday arrested Daryl Goss, 25, of Atco, and charged him with Attempted Murder after reportedly attacking and injuring a woman who was home alone.

According to officials, on Mar. 7th at approximately 9:15 pm the Waterford Township Police Department responded to reports of a male who forced his way into a house on Gardens Avenue in Waterford.  He assaulted the 28- year-old female in the head with a hammer.

Upon responding to neighbors’ 911 calls, police found Daryl Goss in her driveway in possession of her cell phone and found the hammer used in the attack nearby.  The victim was able to identify Goss as her attacker.

Investigation revealed that prior to this attack, Goss entered one other residence in that neighborhood and attempted to enter another nearby residence. Goss was arrested on scene.

Police charged Daryl Goss with attempted murder according to Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Waterford Township Police Chief Daniel Cormaney. He was also charged with aggravated assault, burglary, criminal trespass, resisting arrest and related weapons offenses. Goss is currently in custody pending a detention hearing to be held in the Superior Court.  At this hearing, the court may order he be detained or released under Criminal Justice Reform.

All persons charged with crimes are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
