A shooting that happened a short time ago near the Elizabeth Fire Headquarters located on Prince Street and Irvington Ave. sent police to the scene where shell casings have been recovered.
According to reports, some type of verbal dispute between several people had a suspect exit a vehicle and violently stab the victim.
The victim's friends then pulled a weapon and opened several round of gunfire at the fleeing suspect occupying the vehicle at around 8 p.m.
The stabbing victim was transported to University Hospital with serious injuries.
