Police in Asbury Park are investigating a shooting that sent one person to the hospital on Sunday afternoon.
According to preliminary reports, police responded to reports of shots fired that rang out on Ridge Avenue at around 1 p.m. where they arrived to find one person suffering a gunshot wound at that location.
The victim was transported to Jersey Shore University Hospital where doctors treated their injuries reports said.
Police are investigating the motive for the shooting.
There were no arrests immediately reported.
