An overnight shooting that occurred in Asbury Park sent one person to the hospital and now has police investigating.
Police responded to reports of shots fired that rang out in the 1200 block of Washington Avenue before 11:30 p.m. where officers arrived at the scene to find the victim struck by gunfire at that location.
EMS rushed the victim to Jersey Shore Medical Center suffering serious injuries.
Several suspects were observed running away from the scene immediately after the shooting.
The victim is being reported as a juvenile.
