An Asbury Park resident is facing criminal charges after allegedly robbing a bank in West Long Branch earlier this week.

According to a statement released by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, 48-year-old Michael Miranda has been charged with one count of second-degree robbery in connection with the incident.

The robbery occurred on the morning of Monday, June 2, 2025.

At approximately 8:46 a.m., officers from the West Long Branch Police Department were dispatched to the TD Bank branch located on Parker Road following reports of a robbery in progress.

Authorities say the suspect entered the bank and handed a note to the teller demanding cash.

While no weapon was displayed during the encounter, the man retrieved the note and left the bank with $825 in cash before fleeing the scene.

A joint investigation led by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Bureau, the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Red Bank Office, and the West Long Branch Police Department quickly identified Miranda as the suspect.

He was arrested without incident on Wednesday, June 4.

Following his arrest, Miranda was transported to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution, where he remains in custody awaiting his initial appearance in Monmouth County Superior Court.

The investigation remains active.
