Arrests Reported After Police Disperse Large Crowd at Event on Kean University Campus

Kean University officials are investigating a physical altercation that erupted between several people on a NJ college campus that had several individuals taken into custody overnight in Union.

According to preliminary reports, the incident happened on the campus of Kean University just after 11 p.m. where campus police received mutual assistance from local municipalities after several people from a large crowd exited a concert and began to engage in physical confrontation in the courtyard near the dorms.

Police were able to gain control of the situation in less than 30 minutes, and there were no reports of serious injuries.

It is not immediately clear of the individuals arrested are Kean University students at this time.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
