Arrest Warrant Issued for Man Wanted for Newark Shooting

Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose reports that a warrant has been issued for the arrest of Eduardo Rodriguez, 23, of Newark, in connection with a shooting that occurred on Monday, July 6, 2020.

According to police, at approximately 7:45 p.m., police responded to the 100 block of Dickerson Street on a call of a shooting.

Responding officers were notified that a man, who had been shot, had arrived at University Hospital for treatment.

Police said the victim was treated and reportedly stabilized.

Detectives investigating this incident identified Eduardo Rodriguez as a suspect and obtained a warrant for his arrest on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and conspiracy.

Police seek the public’s help in quickly locating him as part of this investigation.

Rodriguez is described as 5’11 and between 160 lbs. and 180 lbs., with brown eyes, according to police.
