Arrest Made in Paterson Shooting

Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Ibrahim Baycora announce that based upon an investigation by the Paterson Police Department, Nasir Clark, 19, from Paterson, Aleena Rivera, 19, From Paterson, and Nijel Towns, 19, from Paterson were arrested in relation to a shooting investigation that took place the same day in the area of Jersey Street and Market Street Paterson, New Jersey.

Police say Mr. Clark, Ms. Rivera, and Mr. Towns are each charged with Attempted Murder, First Degree (4 Counts); Unlawful Possession of a Handgun, Second Degree; and Possession of a Handgun for an Unlawful Purpose, Second Degree (4 Counts).

According to police, on Friday, a shooting took place in the area of Jersey Street Market Street Paterson New Jersey.

Four individuals, a 22-year-old male Paterson resident, a 30-year-old female Paterson resident, a 23-year-old male Paterson resident, and a 22-year-old male Paterson resident, were traveling in vehicle when they came in contact with another vehicle occupied by Mr. Clark, Ms. Rivera, and Mr. Towns.

The vehicle with Mr. Clark, Ms. Rivera, and Mr. Towns fired at the vehicle with the four victims, hitting their vehicle.

Officials say Paterson Police officers observed both vehicles and pulled them over on Route 21 South near exit 7.

A handgun was recovered in the vehicle with the three actors and all three were arrested. None of the victims were injured.
