Orange

Police in Orange are on the search for a suspect who is wanted for forcing his way into his baby's mother apartment then pointing a gun at her boyfriend who escaped the residence by jumping out of a window early Saturday morning.

According to preliminary reports, police were called to an unspecified address in the 300 block of Elizabeth Street just before 12;30 a.m. for a report of a possible domestic violence incident.

Police said when they arrived at the scene, they found the woman who stated that her child's father broke into her apartment and confronted her boyfriend with a gun. According to reports, the woman's boyfriend jumped out the window after the suspect pointed the gun at him from a short distance.

Officers arrived at the scene and began a search for the suspect and the victim, but neither could be found which then prompted authorities to believe that a possible kidnapping occurred.

According to reports, the search for the alleged boyfriend ended when officers located him at an unknown site just before 4 a.m., but the suspect remains at-large.

Police say the suspect is believed to be a Newark resident and fled the scene in a blue 4-door Dodge Charger with damage to the right tail light. He is reportedly 6ft tall with red-tipped dreads and was last observed wearing a purple and black jersey, tan pants and wore nothing on his feet.
