Two men were taken into custody today after a shooting this afternoon in Hillside.
Police responded to the area of Liberty Avenue and Crann Street on reports of shots fired this afternoon, Lieutenant Vincent Ricciardi said this evening.
Initial investigation revealed that two men - who had been engaged in an extended dispute over a female for a month or more - were involved in an afternoon shooting, where two shots were fired, said Ricciardi.
No one was injured in the shooting, added the lieutenant.
The shooter - whose identity is being withheld at this time - was taken into custody. According to police, a second person was also in ustody at police headquarters in Hillside.
The shooting remains under investigation.
