ALERT: Woman Wanted for Firing Shots at Female in Newark’s South Ward

Newark Police officials are reporting that a warrant has been issued for the arrest of Ms. Giache S. Smalley, 23, of Newark, on a charge of aggravated assault in an incident that occurred last night -Thursday-.

Police say at approximately 10:15 p.m., a woman was shot at in the 200 block of Fabyan Place by a female suspect who arrived at the location in a black 2-door 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse.

The suspect, accompanied by a passenger and a child in the backseat, exited the vehicle and fired upon the victim, who ran away and was uninjured.

Police observed property damage at the scene according to police.

Detectives investigating this incident have identified Giache S. Smalley as a suspect in this incident and have secured a warrant for her arrest.

While police are actively searching for Smalley, they seek the public’s assistance in quickly locating her so that she can be removed from Newark streets.

The investigation is ongoing according to police.
