ALERT: Suspect Wanted for Breaking into Downtown Newark Business

Police in Newark seek the public’s help in identifying a male suspect wanted in connection with a business burglary that occurred today, August 28. 

According to Newark Police officials, at approximately 2:10 a.m., the suspect entered the Tridos Peri Peri Chicken Restaurant, located at 98 Halsey Street.

Police say the suspect removed a lock cylinder from the side entrance door, entered the restaurant, and stole two cash register drawers containing $100.00 each before fleeing towards Broad Street. 

Detectives investigating this incident seek the public’s help in identifying this suspect as part of their investigation.

According to police, he is 6-ft. tall with a dark complexion and beard, wearing all black clothing, white Adidas sneakers, and a wave cap.
