ALERT: Suspect Sought for Shooting Two Newark High School Students Inside Pizzeria

Newark authorities are appealing to the public for assistance in identifying a suspect linked to a violent shooting incident that occurred on Thursday, January 11.AdThe call to action came after a violent episode unfolded at around 2:49 p.m. in the 300 block of South Orange Avenue.

Patrol officers in the vicinity were promptly alerted by a concerned bystander about a shooting within a local business.

Upon arriving at the scene, law enforcement discovered two injured juveniles, a 14-year-old girl and a 15-year-old boy from nearby West Side High.

The investigation revealed that the shooting ensued following a confrontation involving the boy and two male intruders. In the chaos, one of the suspects discharged a firearm, wounding both young individuals.

Emergency services swiftly transported the victims to University Hospital, where they are currently recuperating and reported to be in stable condition.

With the suspects having fled eastbound on South Orange Avenue, detectives are now intensifying their efforts to identify and apprehend the individuals responsible for this heinous act.

Director Fragé is calling upon community members to come forward with any information that could lead to the identification and arrest of the suspect.
