Police in Hillside are continuing to look for Ms. Veneita Johnson, 49 of Hillside, who was reported missing by family members.
According to police, Ms. Johnson was last seen via doorbell camera video leaving her residence on 4/15/2023 at 4:15 AM.
Ms. Johnson is described as a black female, heavyset, with short hair. She has a black mole under her left eye.
She was last seen wearing a black US Army ROTC jacket, a green and white striped shirt, pink pants, brown shoes.
Ms. Johnson is mute and deaf. According to family members, she suffers from dementia and is no longer using sign language.
She frequently wanders off and is unable to find her way home. In the past Ms. Johnson has been seen wandering the streets of Elizabeth and Plainfield.
