Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda Sr. is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a man suspected of breaking into a residence on Grafton Avenue and stealing multiple items, according to information released by the Newark Police Department.

The burglary occurred around 5:35 a.m. on May 1, 2025, when the suspect was caught on surveillance video entering a home through a basement window in the 200 block of Grafton Avenue.
According to authorities, the suspect was dressed in a gray and black hoodie, dark blue jeans, and white sneakers at the time of the break-in.
Once inside, the suspect reportedly stole various items, including tools, a speaker, a Ring camera, a ladder, and ceiling lights, before fleeing the scene.

Director Miranda is urging anyone who may recognize the suspect or has details about the incident to contact the Newark Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS. Callers can remain anonymous.
