An active and ongoing investigation is underway as authorities search for a suspect wanted in connection with a violent stabbing that left a juvenile hospitalized Tuesday afternoon in Bloomfield.
According to a statement released by the Bloomfield Police Department, officers were dispatched to the area of Walnut Street at approximately 12:57 p.m. on February 17, 2026, following reports of a stabbing.
When officers arrived, they located a juvenile suffering from multiple stab wounds.
Police immediately began providing emergency medical assistance while securing the scene. Members of the Bloomfield Fire Department and Bloomfield EMS responded to assist.
The victim was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment and is currently recovering, authorities said.
Following what officials described as an intensive investigation, detectives identified an 18-year-old suspect and established probable cause to file criminal charges.
An arrest warrant has been issued for Johan C. Ibarra on the following charges:
• Attempted Murder
• Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose
