ALERT: Newark Police Issues Arrest Warrant for ”Poppi” for First Street Shooting Incident

Police officials in Newark are reporting that a warrant has been issued for the arrest of Me. Faquir “Poppi” Parish, 27, in connection with an aggravated assault that occurred on Friday.

According to a statement released by police, shortly before 6:25 p.m., police responded to the 100 block of 1st Street on a call of a shooting.

Officials say responding officers located a man shot following a quarrel with another person.

Police say the suspect fled, heading southbound on 1st Street. The victim was transported to University Hospital for treatment then released.

Detectives investigating this incident have identified Faquir Parish as a suspect in this incident and obtained a warrant for his arrest.

Parish faces charges of aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose police said.

While police are actively searching for Parish, they seek the public’s help in quickly locating him as part of this investigation.

He is described as 6-ft. tall and 150 lbs. He has a medium brown complexion, black hair and brown eyes.
