Police in Newark requests the public’s help with identifying a suspect who was captured on surveillance video shooting at people in a vehicle on February 18, 2021.
Officials said police responded to a shooting in progress that occurred around 4:46 p.m. on Seventh Avenue.
On surveillance video, a man was standing in front of a store talking to several occupants in a vehicle before he pulled out a weapon and fired at them.
Police say the suspect is described as a black male with a slim build. He was wearing a white and black skull hat, a black North Face coat with a hood, black Nike joggers, and black boots.
While detectives investigating this incident they are seeking the public’s help with identifying this suspect, Director Ambrose urges anyone with information about him to call the Division's 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).
All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
