NJ TRANSIT rail passengers traveling through portions of Somerset and Hunterdon counties faced disruptions early Monday morning after a disabled train forced a suspension of service along part of the Raritan Valley Line.
According to an NJ TRANSIT alert issued shortly after 6 a.m., rail service was suspended in both directions between Raritan and High Bridge because of a disabled train near White House Station.
White House Station is located in Readington Township and serves NJ TRANSIT’s Raritan Valley Line. The affected stretch also includes North Branch, Lebanon and Annandale before reaching High Bridge.
The disruption affected service west of Raritan during the early-morning travel period.
As of the latest check of NJ TRANSIT’s website, however, the agency’s system-status page was showing the Raritan Valley Line operating on time, indicating that the earlier suspension had been cleared.
Passengers should continue checking NJ TRANSIT’s official website for the latest service information before traveling.
