Acid Spill at Union High School Sends Teacher to Hospital

An acetic acid spilled inside one of the school’s science labs sent a teacher to the hospital while several other students were evaluated.

According to officials, firefighters and hazmat crews responded to the Union High School this morning after a jar of acid, possibly acetic acid, broke inside a science classroom, reportedly exposing the teacher to the acid.

Based on preliminary reports, approximately 25 children were being evaluated.
