A 27-year-old Atlantic City man has been sentenced to more than seven years in state prison for stabbing a man during a violent altercation inside Harrah’s Casino, prosecutors announced.

On Monday, October 6, 2025, Dante Braxton was sentenced to an aggregate term of seven and one-half years in New Jersey State Prison after pleading guilty to second-degree aggravated assault and third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
Under the No Early Release Act, he must serve 85% of his sentence before becoming eligible for parole.
Following his release, Braxton will remain under intensive parole supervision for three years.
The charges stem from an incident on November 24, 2022, when Atlantic City Police responded to a large fight inside a nightclub at Harrah’s Casino.
Officers found a man suffering stab wounds to his elbow and abdomen.
Investigators said surveillance footage and cellphone video captured by patrons showed Braxton stabbing the victim inside the lounge during the melee.
After the attack, Braxton reportedly followed the victim outside and hurled a metal chair at him.
Footage also revealed that Braxton set off a metal detector before entering the club, but security did not search him or use a handheld wand, allowing him to bring the knife inside.
During his guilty plea, Braxton admitted stabbing the victim with the weapon.
In addition to the stabbing case, Braxton received concurrent sentences after pleading guilty to separate charges of drug possession with intent to distribute, obstruction, and contempt of a Drug Offender Restraining Order.
