An elderly man who fatally shot his wife then turned the gun on himself Monday afternoon had police investigating a murder-suicide.
Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Wayne Police Chief James Clarke announce the shooting death of Barbara Martone, age 81 years old.
According to a preliminary investigation, authorities said Martone was shot and killed by her husband Daniel Martone, 80, who then turned the gun on himself in a successful suicide attempt.
The incident occurred at approximately 3:30 pm at the couple's home located on Dwyer Street authorities said.
The investigation remains on-going.
