50-Year-Old Illinois Man Struck by Stray Bullet While Driving in Paterson

Authorities in Passaic County reported that at approximately 4:43 p.m. on September 25, 2021, Paterson Police were dispatched to the area of Presidential Boulevard and West Broadway on a report of a shooting.

Upon arrival, police located a potential crime scene and a 50-year-old male resident of Oak Forest, Illinois, sustained a non-fatal gunshot wound.

Passaic County official said the victim was immediately transported to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center for treatment.

Based upon the initial investigation, police determined that the victim was traveling in a motor vehicle on Presidential Boulevard when gunfire rang out.

While approaching the traffic light at the intersection of Presidential Boulevard and West Broadway, multiple actors began shooting at unknown persons. One of the bullets pierced the victim’s windshield, striking him.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
