Firefighters in Passaic battled a large fire that broke out at a church in the 30's block of Columbia Ave. overnight.
The large 5-alarm blaze broke out at a church located at 37 Columbia Avenue shortly after 9 p.m., and quickly spread to about five other structures. Officials said two residential buildings, a church and two commercial garages were destroyed in the blaze.
Mutual assistance from several towns helped Passaic firefighters gain control of the flames.
