An active and ongoing investigation is underway following a shooting that left a 28-year-old Paterson man injured Saturday afternoon.
According to a statement released by Camelia M. Valdes and Patrick Murray, members of the Paterson Police Department responded at approximately 4:12 p.m. on February 21, 2026, to reports of gunfire in the area of Hamilton Avenue and Rosa Parks Boulevard.
Upon arrival, officers located a 28-year-old male suffering from a non-fatal gunshot wound.
The victim, who is a resident of Paterson, was transported to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center for treatment.
Authorities confirmed the injuries were not considered life-threatening.
Police also identified a potential crime scene in the area as detectives began processing evidence and canvassing for additional information.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. Officials stated that more details will be released as they become available.
