22-Year-Old Shot in Plainfield

Police officials in Plainfield are investigating a shooting that left a man injured in the city this afternoon.

According to a statement released by police, the incident happened at approximately 4:22 pm, where Plainfield Police Officers responded to the 300 Block of Grant Avenue on a ShotSpotter alert.

Officials say units arrived at the scene and located a 22-year-old male, city resident, suffering a non-life threatening gunshot injury.

According to Plainfield Police officials, the injured male was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

A preliminary investigation indicated that this male was the intended target officials said in the statement.
