$200K Warrant Issued for Irvington Man Wanted for Newark Shooting

Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose announces that a $200,000.00 arrest warrant has been issued for Lamar Jenkins, 30, of Irvington in connection with an aggravated assault shooting on Oct. 25th.

According to authorities, at approximately 2:15 p.m., a 36-year-old male victim was shot in the 600 block of South 20th Street.

A silver vehicle pulled next to the victim. The driver exited the car and shot the victim several times before speeding away.

The victim was transported to University Hospital where he underwent surgery and is in stable condition.  

As a result of their investigation, detectives have determined that Lamar Jenkins is a suspect in this shooting.

While police are actively searching for Jenkins, we seek the public’s assistance in quickly locating and removing him from our streets.
