Authorities in Passaic County are investigating a shooting that left a 20-year-old Paterson man injured late Thursday night.

According to a statement from Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Officer-in-Charge Patrick Murray, officers were called to the area of Arch Street and North 1st Street around 10:46 p.m. on October 23, after reports of gunfire.
Responding officers discovered the victim suffering from a gunshot wound.
He was transported by ambulance to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson, where he is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Police were able to locate a possible crime scene in the area, though the investigation remains active.
Authorities have not released details regarding potential suspects or a motive.
