Police in Newark reported the arrest of 18 adults and one juvenile in the August warrant roundup.
From August 9th through August 11th, 2023, the Newark Police Division effected the arrests of the 19 individuals listed below:
- Male juvenile, 17, was arrested at 31 Green Street, Newark. Wanted for aggravated assault and weapon possession.
- Kevin G. Loyal, 34, was arrested at the 200 block of S. Burlington Road in Bridgeton, NJ. Wanted for CDS possession, CDS distribution, CDS distribution within 1,000 ft. of a school, and CDS distribution within 500 ft. of a park.
- Amir I. Council, 30, was arrested at 31 Green Street, Newark. Wanted for robbery and simple assault.
- Camarrie P. Sherwood, 22, was arrested at the 100 block of 21st Street, Irvington. Wanted for aggravated assault (shooting), weapon possession, and conspiracy.
- Commar Welch, 23, was arrested at Girad Avenue, East Orange. Wanted for weapon possession and terroristic threats.
- Edward Turner, 36, was arrested at Bergen Street, Newark. Wanted for weapon possession.
- Jaheim Latta, 20, was arrested at Alexander Street, Newark. Wanted for weapon possession.
- Qayyim D. Cunningham, 18, was arrested at Bamford Place, Irvington. Wanted for burglary.
- Abdullah Bryant, 25, was arrested at 31 Green Street, Newark. Wanted for aggravated assault.
- Timothy L. Washington, 51, was arrested at 31 Green Street, Newark.
- Edward Akuoko, 35, was arrested at South Clinton Street, East Orange. Wanted for aggravated assault.
- Darionah H. Scott, 21, was arrested at the 200 block of South Orange Avenue, Newark. Wanted for aggravated assault.
- Waheed A. Perry, 30, was arrested at Vermont Avenue, Newark. Wanted for aggravated assault.
- Stanell Givens, 25, was arrested at South 7th Street, Newark.
- Jiequell Costa, 22, was arrested at the 400 block of Central Avenue, Newark. Wanted for probation violation.
- Nasir Davis, 19, was arrested at Poplar Road, Piscataway. Wanted for probation violation.
- Damian Coleman, 21, was arrested at Poplar Road, Piscataway.
- Robert Robinson, 29, was arrested at Elizabeth Avenue and Meeker Avenue, Newark. Wanted for aggravated assault, weapon possession, and certain persons prohibited from weapon possession.
- Amani A. Faines, 23, was arrested at Jennie Court, Newark. Wanted for conspiracy, aggravated assault, and criminal mischief.
These charges are merely accusations.
Each suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
