18-Year-Old Kills Father at Family's Kinnelon Home

An 18-year-old man was arrested last night after he allegedly shot and killed his father, authorities said.

Kinnelon police responded to 15 Wedgewood Drive shortly after 4 p.m. for an unknown medical emergency. 

Upon arrival, police found James E. Hofstetter, 57, dead from multiple gunshot wounds, according to authorities.

Travis J. Hofstetter was arrested near Skylands Ice World in Hardyston Township last night. 

Hofstetter was charged today with one count of first-degree murder, one count of possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and one count of unlawful possession of a weapon. 

Hofstetter is being held on $750,000 cash bail.

Fatal shooting remains under investigation.
