18-Year-Old Arrested for Somerdale Shooting

Camden County authorities announced that an 18-year-old Lawnside man has been arrested and charged in connection to the shooting of a man in Somerdale last week.

According to Lawnside Police, on Thursday, April 6, at approximately 6:32 p.m., officers from their Police Department, Somerdale Police Department, Magnolia Police Department, and the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit responded to the 400 block of the White Horse Pike for a report of a shooting that occurred. 

 

Police say a 32-year-old male gunshot victim involved in the shooting incident arrived by vehicle at Cooper University Hospital on Thursday evening.

The male victim of Lawnside has been released from the hospital.   

According to authorities, following an investigation by the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Somerdale Police Department, Nicholas Stiegler, 18, of Lawnside, was charged with the following offenses in connection to the shooting of the man in Somerdale on April 6: 

• 2nd-degree Aggravated Assault 

• 2nd-degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon   

• 2nd-degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose 

• 4th degree Aggravated Assault Pointing a Firearm 

On Monday, April 10, Stiegler was taken into custody in Pine Hill by the U.S. Marshals Service New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force.

The Somerdale Police Department processed Stiegler and subsequently transported to the Camden County Correctional Facility pending his detention hearing.
