16-Year-Old Teens Caught Stealing from Cars in Clark; Arrested in Linden

Two 16-year-old teens were arrested in Linden after an officer spotted them stealing from vehicles in a church parking lot in Clark.

A plain-clothed Clark officer spotted the two 16-year-old teens from Winfield Park stealing from then unlocked vehicles near St. John's Church around 10:30 p.m., Police responded to they were Clark Police Chief Pedro Matos.

As the officer, approached the teens, they fled on foot ensuing a brief foot pursuit into the area of as rules Street in Linden, where they were taken into custody.

Both teens each were charged with burglary to a motor vehicle and were released to their parents.

The case will be referred to the Union County Family Court.
