Vineland

Authorities announced that a 12-year-old boy was charged after reportedly telling fellow students he planned to bring a weapon to school.

According to police, an Anthony Rossi Intermediate School student allegedly told other students he was going to bring a gun to school and start shooting. Police said students notified school administrators Wednesday who then contacted police.

Vineland officers spoke with the student who claimed he was joking around. Officers conducted a search of the student’s locker but didn't find a weapon.

Authorities charged the student with creating a false public alarm.
