There is a police investigation and a search for a vehicle that reportedly fled the scene of a crash that turned fatal on the NJ Turnpike early this morning in Elizabeth.
Police are on the search for a white or light colored 4-door Infinity sedan with heavy front end damage and mechanical damage that left the scene of a crash that killed at least one person and sent two others to the hospital with serious injuries according to early morning initial reports from the scene.
The crash happened on the NJ Turnpike southbound lanes near mile marker 102 in Elizabeth shortly before 3 a.m. according to police.
The fatally injured male victim reportedly suffered a severe head injury and was pronounced at the scene.
Police departments around the region has been notified to be on the look out for the vehicle.
