Groundwork Elizabeth, a 501c3 non profit founded in 2003 to change places, change lives, is putting last minute touches on its Annual Evergreen Gala.
The fundraising dinner event will take place on Wednesday, February 24th at 6 p.m. at the restored Snyder Academy Building of Elizabethtown, located at 42 Broad Street in Elizabeth.
During the event, Groundwork Elizabeth will honoring 5 individuals who have helped the non-profit and its partners succeed in programs such as environmental advocacy, trail building, urban agriculture at Kean University and community gardens, youth programming, and community health, including the Annual Tour de Elizabeth, which all work to build a sustainable community.
The following community leaders will be recognized:
Spirit of Community Award –Patricia Perkins-Auguste, City of Elizabeth Councilwoman
Outstanding Community Partner – William O’Dea, Executive Director of the Elizabeth Development Company
Agricultural Hero – Henry Dreyer of Dreyer Farms (posthumously)
Community Garden Partner – William D. Jones, Executive Director of the Elizabeth Housing Authority
Volunteer of the Year – Tom Mulligan.
Among the festivities expected, includes a silent auction and acoustic music by Dario Scholis.
Attendees will then dine on a buffet style dinner, feast on desserts prepared by Dolce restaurant and delight on wine and signature drinks.
The admission fee of $100.00 will also include drinks and food.
