Video: Over Two Dozen Injured After NJ Transit Bus Crashes into Tree in Newark

Over two dozen people were transported to area hospitals after a NJ Transit bus crashed into a tree this afternoon in Newark's South Ward.

Rescue crews rushed to the intersection of Wainwright Street at Lyons Avenue at approximately 1:51 pm. after receiving several calls that bus #37 line crashed into a tree at that location.

According to NJ Transit spokesperson, 25 people suffering non-life threatening injuries were transported to various area hospitals.

The bus was traveling from the Newark Airport to the Ivy Hill section of town.

The cause of the crash is unknown and is under investigation.
