Newark – Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray announced today that the Newark Police Department and the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force are investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash.
On Sunday, Dec. 20 at approximately 2:30 am there was a crash on McCarter Highway and 3rd Avenue in Newark. A Ford F-150 pick up truck collided with an Infinity. The two male drivers had non-life threatening injuries and were taken to University Hospital where they were treated.
The female passenger in the Infinity sustained life threatening injuries. She was transported to University Hospital. She has been identified as Dominique N. Wilson, 27, of Paterson. She was pronounced dead on Dec. 20 at 5:53 p.m.
The investigation is active and ongoing. At this time no charges have been filed against either of the male drivers. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
