A Lacey Township man with a ticket to Hong Kong was arrested after a loaded gun was found in his carry-on luggage at Newark Liberty International Airport over the weekend.
According to Port Authority police spokesman Joe Pentangelo, an officer operating the X-ray machine at a security checkpoint spotted the .25 caliber handgun - loaded with six hollow point rounds - in a zippered case inside a knapsack Saturday.
The handgun was confiscated and Chad Wiegand was place under arrest.
Wiegand was charged with unlawful possession of a handgun and unlawful possession of hollow point bullets.
